injury: idiopathic w/ no clear S/Sx, but well-localized to 2nd digit of right hand (proximal phalange), ppr
(note: possible sequellae of immediately prior visual inspection of bumblebee bandaid in pocket of doffed clothing while donning jammies)
Tx: finger secured with bumblebee bandaid. No kiss applied--not deemed necssary at this time (note: reserve option for F/U Tx, should original S/Sx return). Patient immediately exhibits Sx of self-satisfaction and contentment, followed by brief period of apparent confusion/possible consternation. Patient is habitual right hand finger-sucker. Upon tentative oral insertion of left 2nd and 3rd digits, patient again exhibits Sx of self-satisfaction and contentment (now sucking fingers and simultaneously gazing at bumblebee bandaid).
Px: good. If patient sleeps through night w/o episodes of out-freaking in rxn to foreign material unwittingly ingested, S/Sx should prove self-limiting w/ return to all ADL's WNL by morning.
